FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ice skating, Wintergarden and more though February 27!

PHILADELPHIA (January 4, 2022): The holiday season may have ended, but winter fun remains at Dilworth Park! Center City District (CCD) will continue to offer the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin through February 27 and the Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn presented by TD Bank will remain open until April 3. A full calendar of free events is planned for guests of all ages.

Timed, 90-minute skate sessions are available at the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink every day through the end of the season. Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time at rothmanrink.ticketsocket.com. Reservations are strongly encouraged, however, in-person tickets, based on availability, will also be offered onsite. Admission is $5 for children 10 and younger, and $7 for adults; skate rental is $10 per person and discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Locks and lockers continue to be available.

Free in February presented by Temple University gives Philadelphians the opportunity to enjoy free admission to the city’s premier ice rink. Starting at the end of January, skaters will receive one free admission pass to return again anytime during the month of February, courtesy of Temple University. CCD has also worked closely with Temple University’s Office of Community Affairs to distribute complimentary ice rink passes to a variety of community partners in North Philadelphia, including One Day at a Time (ODAAT), Project HOME and the Duckrey and Dunbar Elementary School Advisory Councils. Visit dilworthpark.org/freeinfebruary to learn more about the promotion. Please note, this offer is subject to availability during remaining timeslots and skate rental is not included.

The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink is accessible for everyone again this season with Sled Skating, thanks to Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Now through February 27, adults and children with physical/developmental disabilities can reserve a sled to use on the ice at no charge, including free admission. Additionally, one adult accompanying the sled user will receive complimentary admission and skate rental, as well. To reserve a sled, email sleds@rinkmanagement.com

The Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin continues to offer cold weather favorites like plant-based chili, brisket sandwiches and hearty potato and cheddar pierogis. Guests with proof of vaccination against COVID-19 can sit inside to fuel up after an afternoon of skating, or warm up in front of firepits outside on the PNC Terrace. Crafted cocktails made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Suntory Haku Vodka are available to adults 21 and older, as well as Stella Artois and Michelob Ultra.

In accord with City of Philadelphia health guidelines, the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin, including the PNC Terrace, will require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for patrons wishing to dine indoors beginning on January 3, 2022. Takeout service will still be available for everyone regardless of vaccination status. Masks are required at all times inside of the Cabin, except when actively eating or drinking.

Parkgoers can explore the Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn presented by TD Bank every day through April 3. Playful topiaries, twinkling lights and seasonal plantings help transform this greenspace into a truly unique destination in Center City. Most of the Wintergarden’s plant material will be repurposed after the garden is disassembled, further beautifying CCD parks and planters throughout the downtown. TD is also proud to support the Wintergarden to create a healthier and more sustainable Center City.
