Center City District Summer Happy Hours & Concerts Return for Another Sizzling Season

(June 2, 2010) – Summers in Philadelphia have a reputation for being a bit on the warm side. Once again, the Center City District will do its level best to help you cool off with a full schedule of events designed to help fight those sultry summer temperatures. From June 2-August 25, the popular Center City District Sips Happy Hours and Center City District Lunchtime Concert Series Presented by TD Bank will be back, ready to entertain and wet the whistles of anyone living, working or visiting the nation's third-largest downtown.

The 2010 Sips happy hours happen every Wednesday evening, 5-7 p.m., all summer long, offering $4 cocktails, $3 wines, $2 beers and half-price appetizers at more than 70 bars and restaurants throughout Center City. Some establishments are even offering a 15% dinner discount to those staying past 7 p.m. When you're out enjoying sips, take some photos of you and your friends for the CCD Sips Happy Hour Photo Contest. E-mail your snapshots to photo@centercityphila.org and we'll post them to our Flickr stream. If, at the end of the summer, your photo is chosen as the best, you'll win $200 in Center City District Restaurant Week gift certificates! Also, it's easy to keep up with the latest Sips specials and special event news by following @CCDSips on Twitter.

Now, that covers the cool, cool evenings. What about breaking up those sunny summer days? Simple- take that sandwich outside and enjoy the Center City District Lunchtime Concert Series presented by TD Bank. No matter where you are in Center City, we're bringing just about any type of music you can imagine to you, Noon-1:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
