Center City District Parks & Plazas

"The transformation of this tiny shard of land amounts to a small miracle...
Every Philadelphia neighborhood should have a park as good as Sister Cities."
- Inga Saffron, The Philadelphia Inquirer

From Urban Engineers: The Parkway at Play- Sister Cities Park

Explore our garden, sail a boat in our pond or grab a bite to eat. Sister Cities Park provides something for everyone.

Children’s Discovery Garden
Explore nature in an urban setting in the Children’s Discovery Garden. Inspired by Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Valley, the garden’s winding pathways and meandering stream provide a setting for discovery and imaginative play. Children can hike the trail, summit the “mountain” and enjoy the view, while connecting with the natural and man-made environments surrounding them.

Milk & Honey Café | milkandhoneymarket.com
M-F: 7 am – 7 pm & Sa-Su 8 am – 7 pm
This casual family-friendly café offers a quick-stop breakfast for the weekday morning commute, lunch for families exploring the park, an afternoon pick-me-up for the tourist visiting area museums and now a special prix fixe brunch for $10.95 on Saturdays and Sundays. The café’s menu features many of Philadelphia’s own signature brands, from fresh-brewed La Colombe coffee to Bassets ice cream, South Street Philly bagels and BT brownies. The Visitor Center staff is on location seven days a week offering complimentary trip planning assistance, an easy onsite option to purchase tickets for area attractions and tours, daily listings of events, regional maps and brochures, so visitors and residents can make the most of their visit to Philadelphia’s Museums District and the region. Contact the Sister Cities Park Visitor Center at 1.800.537.7676 and follow them @PHLVisitorCntr on Twitter for tips and information or to ask us questions while you’re visiting.

Boat Pond
Harness the wind and enjoy the pleasures of sailing in our boat pond. Bring your own model boat or buy one at the park to navigate our shallow waters for hours of fun. Small boats are $5 and large boats are $7 (two large boats are $12). Save your receipts for five purchases and you get the sixth free.

Plaza and Fountain
Sit, relax and enjoy the picturesque views at Sister Cities Plaza.  Here, embedded in bluestone, is Sister Cities fountain, a unique representation of the world with Philadelphia at its center. Jets of water playfully leap from 10 spouts, representing our 10 sister cities, globally positioned in relation to their distance from Philadelphia.

Sister Cities Park is managed and maintained by the Center City District.
