Maison 208 is a stylish, French-influenced American restaurant and cocktail lounge from Haiti-to-New York chef, Sylva Senat. With experience at Tashan, Buddakhan and Dos Tacos, Senat serves elegant yet playful and approachable plates under Philadelphia’s first retractable restaurant roof. Named after its 208 South 13th Street address, Maison 208 features three full-service bars and an open-air upstairs lounge called The Social.
The Social serves cocktails and an exclusive menu of amuse-bouche international bites, including sliders and petit plats of artisanal cheese and truffle infused pizza noir topped with a mini salad of frisee, watermelon radish and three-citrus dressing. Order organic wines by the glass or bottle and choose from an extensive cocktail program that includes the herbal, chartreuse Woodpecker, tobacco infused R.R. Cigar and Chickadee Tea- a concoction of house-made chamomile vodka and rose served in a vintage cup and saucer.
The equally fresh and sophisticated downstairs dining room offers a more traditional full-service dining environment with tufted leather banquettes, sleek marble tables and a menu neatly divided into petit plats, entrees, sides and salads. Chef Senat’s top-selling French dorade - flash fried for a crisp crust and served surrounded by herbed heirloom tomatoes and a rich tomato consommé - was recently named one of Zagat’s 10 New Dishes to Try in Philadelphia. The lively Midtown Village restaurant, complete with a swirling bird-themed mural that starts at the roof and continues down throughout the restaurant, is located in a gorgeous two-story construction on the corner of 13th and Chancellor for everyday fine-dining and picturesque drinks with friends.
