Barbuzzo

Barbuzzo is a Mediterranean kitchen and bar owned by 13th Street restaurant duo Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran. Upon walking in, guests are greeted by an intimate first floor dining room decorated with repurposed Mid-Atlantic woods, whitewashed brick and a marble bar that overlooks Barbuzzo’s open kitchen where Chef Turney harmoniously infuses familiar Italian dishes with fresh Mediterranean flavors. Inventive wood-fired pizzas – which Turney attended a Neapolitan pizza program in California to perfect – come topped with house stretched fior di latte and produce-focused ingredients, including squash blossoms, asparagus and shaved zucchini. Barbuzzo offers an impressive collection of European wine, craft beers and cocktails with herbs, citrus and elderflower liqueur. In addition to the first floor dining room, Barbuzzo’s spacious second floor is available for private events, with seating for 75 or 100 in a cocktail setting. End every visit with Barbuzzo’s much buzzed about salted caramel budino- a rich Italian custard glazed with caramel, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and flakes of fleur de sel.
