YOU CAN MAKE PHILADELPHIA GREENER
The Center City District has created Plant!Philadelphia so individuals and businesses can directly participate in the effort to expand Center City’s canopy of healthy street trees and contribute to the citywide goal of planting 300,000 trees by 2015. With your support, we can plant new trees within the boundaries of the Center City District or replace damaged ones and sustain a routine schedule of pruning, watering, pest management and fertilization in order to keep William Penn’s vision of a green country town thriving for the next generation.

There are over 2,600 street trees within the CCD’s boundary and for more than a decade we have maintained about 800 of them from Vine Street to South Street, river to river, replacing about 8% annually.

Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes! The Center City District Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization and you will receive a receipt for your contribution that you can use for tax purposes.

Will I know what trees my donation helped to plant?
Yes! The CCD will post updates on our website showing where new trees or replacement trees funded through Plant!Philadelphia are located. The website will list the names of donors at all levels of contribution, unless you indicate your wish to remain anonymous.

Can I choose where new trees are planted?
Yes! If you are contributing toward the installation of new or replacement trees, you can suggest a quadrant of the Center City District that is your priority and we will try to the extent we have available locations to honor your wishes. A healthy canopy of trees benefits all areas of the downtown.

I live outside the Center City District boundary. Can I still donate to Plant!Philadelphia?
Yes! The CCD encourages all interested Philadelphians to help make our downtown greener, but our focus will be on planting, replacing, or maintaining trees within the CCD boundaries.
